Li River in Guilin is honored to be the most beautiful gallery of the world, and the Trekking section is from Yangdi to Xingping, where the Li River passes an endless procession of distinct peaks, bamboo groves and stunning landscape. The part is the highlight of the cruise, and hikers and trekkers can experience the lifestyle of the rural people: pinnacled peaks pop up and surprise you at each end of the river; water buffalos patrol on the field; ducks paddle in the waters; peasants reap paddles in front of village houses; fishermen use the cormorants to catch the fish and return them to the boat and kids go home singing songs. All of these create an idyllic and beautiful scene of the life removed from concrete cities.

The hiking route is about 18 kilometers.This section is one of the most classic hiking routes and capable for entry-level hikers.The whole route is divided into three parts  Road condition is fairly good with 30% cobblestone path, 50% river carry road and 20 countryside roads.

If you start from Guilin, there is no direct bus to Yangdi. You can take the bus to Yangshuo and get off at the Entrance of Yangdi Road. It takes about one hour and the ticket is RMB15.00 per person. Then change a minibus to Yangdi Ferry. It takes about 30 minutes and the ticket is RMB3.00 per person.

If you start from Yangshuo, you can take the bus to Yangdi Ferry directly. The first shuttle leaves at 6:40 in the morning and runs at an interval of 20 minutes. It takes about 1.5 hours and the ticket is about RMB10.00 per person.
