The hiking route is about 18 kilometers.This section is one of the most classic hiking routes and capable for entry-level hikers.The whole route is divided into three parts  Road condition is fairly good with 30% cobblestone path, 50% river carry road and 20 countryside roads.

If you start from Guilin, there is no direct bus to Yangdi. You can take the bus to Yangshuo and get off at the Entrance of Yangdi Road. It takes about one hour and the ticket is RMB15.00 per person. Then change a minibus to Yangdi Ferry. It takes about 30 minutes and the ticket is RMB3.00 per person.

If you start from Yangshuo, you can take the bus to Yangdi Ferry directly. The first shuttle leaves at 6:40 in the morning and runs at an interval of 20 minutes. It takes about 1.5 hours and the ticket is about RMB10.00 per person.

Xingping Village in Yangshuo,Guilin

Xingping is the oldest town in Yangshuo,Guilin, and 17km away from Yangshuo.

Xingping Village

Xingping was set up in 265, Three Kingdoms here, and used to be Xiping County. It was the center of Yangshuo County until Yangshuo Town was setup in 590.It has been the most important town beside the Li River for over 1700 years.The scenery from Yangdi to Xingping is the most beautiful part of Li River.In 1974, after one of the Marshals of our country, Ye Jianying, visited Li River, he wrote a poem,which says "Xingping ranks first in Li River."

Xingping Village

Xingping Town is actually an ancient slabstone street of 1 km. Assembly halls of other provinces were built at the both sides of the street in the past. Various historic buildings of brick and tile were well protected today. The relics of ancient Xiping could be found at the southeast of the ancient street. The mysterious thing is that an stone weigh of about 20 tons was swallowed by the ancient banyan tree which was grew when the county was built. The tree is now likely to tell people a history of more than 1,730 years.

Tralling to Xingping, you should not miss a small fishing village. The village has a history of more than 500 years. It typically represents the architectural style of North Guangxi during the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368 - 1911), the buildings in the village conform to those in the town. They have horse head walls, flying eaves, painted rafters and windows with carved patterns. The family of the former US president, Bill Clinton visited the village in 1998, they highly praised the village and were deeply attracted by the residences.

It is famous for the 108 calcium carbonate stone lotus basins.In the world there are only two countries that have this kind of unique landscape,8 lotus basins in Yugoslavia and 108 in Xingping.The Chinese geologist,Sun Daguang, once visited here and wrote "the Wonder in the World."
